Rowan: Your name is Doctor?
>Yes
Rowan: OK...
So, you're [the] Doctor?
A fine name that is!
--
Rowan: All right, Doctor, the time has come.
Your very own tale of grand adventure is about to unfold.
On your journey, you will meet countless Pokémon and people.
I'm sure that along the way you will discover many things, perhaps even something about yourself.
Now, go on, leap into the world of Pokémon!
>CUE THE FUCKING DW THEME AND SHOW ME SOME TARDIS.
--
Rival Kackles: There you are! Hey, Doctor! Did you just see the TV? Sure you did! Prof. Rowan's that really important guy who studies Pokémon, right? That means he must have lots and lots of Pokémon. So if we ask him, I bet he'd give us some Pokémon!
Rival Kackles: Oh, hey! Is this a new PC?
Uh... Where was I? Oh, right, right! We're going to go see Prof. Rowan and get some Pokémon. I'll be waiting outside. OK, Doctor? If you're late I'm fining you P10 million!
--
Mom: Doctor!
Kackles already left. I don't know what it was about, but he sure was in a hurry!
Mom: Oh, yes! Doctor! Don't go into the tall grass.
Wild Pokémon might attack you.
It would be OK if you had your own Pokémon, but you don't, so...
Well, take care, sweetie!

[Raino] A new game and a new beginning
So anyway! Today I went out with friends and I had fun, and had a barbecue, and it was fun, and we were fun and everything was fun, but that's sort of off-topic, so! I went out today, and I went and bought myself Pokémon Platinum! ... Because I wanted to play it. And I dislike Pearl. Because I'm a snob. OKAY.
Yeah, so I was thinking that maybe this run, I could name my character after The Doctor, the main character of the ever-popular British sci-fi series: Doctor Who. Yes, just imagine it. Wouldn't it be awesome to have The Doctor save their reality as well? The answer is obvious.
And I've been battling. And losing. Regretfully more than I've been winning. I have one fight up on Youtube against my good friend Kackles, and I'm planning to upload a few more. And Twitter. Yes, I have one of those now as well. I'm not really sure how long that is going to last.

But that's enough for now, I'm sure. Sinnoh awaits me, adios!

[Grace] Grinding, breeding, grinding

So. Since my last post, I have half of my team all EV trained! Yay! Well I don't know if I should be yaying, considering I've probably made Magikarp and Goldeen endangered species by now, but I digress. I dare not delve into details in fear of my superawesomespecial team being exposed to prying eyes before it even makes its debut, but I shall say that two of these Pokémon have all their moves put on them. The last, however, doesn't learn two of its moves until it gains quite a few levels -- so that'll have to wait a bit. Sadly, the last three members of my team aren't even bred; so it's back to the ol' daycare for me. More cycling and hearing about how that old guy is just so surprised that they found an egg there. Whoopdeedoo. But it's all worth it. This is so exciting. I love all aspects of team building. Planning it, making a blueprint, tossing out insane ideas just for the heck of it. Making your final draft, gathering necessary materials, breeding it, EV training it, then leveling it up and watching those stats skyrocket. It's such a good feeling when it's done, too.
So let's see, other than that -- I guess I've been just doing general completionest stuff. Catching Pokémon I don't have, doing all the daily events, etc. Yeah. Pretty much just a daily grind for now: training, collecting, yadayada. To be honest I'm not sure what I'm going to do once my team is done. The only upcoming tournament is in New Jersey -- I live in Massachusetts, which is like a couple states up (in other words, too far to travel, especially since I lack the ability to drive and also my own car) so I guess I'll look for more local smaller-time tournaments. Should be fun stuff. Maybe I'll get myself back into the trading card game. Ohoho.
Mm... yeah. I'm sorry I didn't have much to say -- but hey, something is better than nothing, right? Right!

[Raino] Hah, figures.
Soon-to-be additions to my team:
Clarent, my Red Gyarados, named after the sword which assassinated King Arthur himself. I've been training its Speed and Attack and it's currently lacking an attack or two.
Avalon, my Dual Screening Gardevoir-to-be. I'm still training her as a Kirlia as I write this.
Gram, the Charizard. It'll be a Special Attacker, that's for sure. Choice Specs, maybe? Dragon Pulse to slay dragons, because that's what Gram does.
And then some winsome.

[Raino] Really kind of still grinding or something.
Kay, no picture this time. Can't be arsed. Really, it's a pain. No, not really, I just can't be arsed... Alright then, moving on!
I have a Lv. 70 Adamant EV trained Scizor who knows the moves U-Turn and Bullet Punch while also sporting a Choice Band. It. Feels. Good. Let's see, what else, what else? Well, I don't know, really. At the moment I'm training a plain old boring Sp. Atk Charizard who'll know at least two STAB moves and something to take out various counters. Charizard is really an all-time favourite of mine, truth be told. That one's precious.
Other than that, I've been battling a lot. No, not sweeping the E4 with my Scizor, but actual, real battling. Friends. I have been challenging my friends. And I've won. Kind of, sort of. Wanted to. Would have, really. I swear. I was one away from winning, I tell you. Fuckin' Garchomp.

[Grace] Apologies and astronomy.

Despite the title, I promise you this post will have something to do with Pokémon. I promise.
So, apologies -- between some Internet issues and being sick and parental issues, I know I haven't posted for a bit. So for that, dear readers, and especially to Rai-nii-san, I apologize.
Onwards... well, I've basically been grinding at the Battle Frontier this whole time; mostly the Hall and the Factory. When I wasn't doing that, I was breeding -- still working on that perfect team. So far I have three out of six with the right natures and good IVs, yay. I do wonder how many times that old man is going to be surprised that he found my Pokémon holding an egg though. Oh, I've about 160ish hours in or the game too, woot!
I don't believe I've mentioned it on the blog, but pretty much my whole playthrough of the game can be found at my YouTube (the titles are longer than just "Pokémon HeartGold -- silly YouTube thumbnails can't fit more than that). It's missing a couple of gym leaders/elite four that went over the ten minute time limit (I was going to crop them into smaller bits but I forgot, typical of myself). So if you're interested, views and comments are always welcome!
I still have not gotten myself a Pikachu that knows surf or fly from the Yellow Forest, unfortunately. That shit is rarer than I thought it would be. fffffffffff
And with that, my friends, I must be off because my DS is about to die and I'm in the middle of a Battle Factory challenge and my charger is in my room.
P.S.: No, astronomy had nothing to do with this post, but it was the first word that came to mind when trying to think of something else that started with "a" so that the title just sounded linguistically nice.
