[Raino] Lol. Fail.

I suffered my first in-game defeat on this SS run, ever, a few minutes ago. How? Oh, I kinda just activated the Lance/Clair double battle, no biggie. Except I only brought three pokemon, two of them below Lv. 40.

Yup.

[Raino] A hundred hours and 15 badges.

Why fifteen, you ask? Oh, that is because I am underleveled. How, you ask? When all of my team is above 60, bordering the 65-mark? Oh, you know why. Because the big and the bad, the final boss, the Master himself is waiting on top of Mt. Silver, with a bleeding Lv. 88 Pikachu to wipe my baby-team of inexperienced, grasshopping contenders.

Yes, now, while I still only have them 15 badges, I'm going grind and pound Lance and his E4 into oblivion and back for quick EXP gathering, and an even quicker money harvesting.

Oh, and I've been in and out of there, what, five times today? And I've noticed. Believe me, you should all have noticed. But didn't it ever make you wonder? How you'd end up back in your home with your crew fully rested? Without a Pokémon to fly you home or anything like it. Just poof -- home. DOESN'T IT MAKE YOU WONDER? Well I have this idea. This thought. How things might be happening.

That machine they use to place your team into the Hall of Fame? Well, yeah, that's what it literally does, it abducts your team and puts them on display in the HoF, eternally.
And then Lance pumps out a few clones to replace them and gives them back to you, WHILE YOU'RE DRUGGED AND UNCONSCIOUS, mind you. And then he tells the old geezer with an Abra to 'port you back home and voila. Harmless, ya? BUT FREAKIN' CREEPY NONETHELESS.

Phew. Oh, did I tell you? I paid a visit to all the female Kanto Leaders first, before wrecking all the other gyms (save for Green's ofc, I won't touch him before another ten levels).

Not much else to say here, really. Doctor Who has been lording over my time lately (hyuk hyuk hyuk), my bass is collecting dust, my homework has piled up, but I'm still playing. I'm still playing. I am.

Well. Here I am, days later. In Kanto with one badge. Which means I've beaten the Johto gyms as well as the Elite 4 and the current champion, Lance the Dragon-tamer. But of course we all know Lance isn't the true champion, he couldn't even be the true champ three years ago (in-game time-line) in R/G/B/Y/Fr/Lg. No, even then he was beaten by the true champion's rival, Mr. Green (last name Oak?). You all know the true champ is Red, don't you?

With the Johto Leaders defeated and the (pre-nat dexter) Elite 4 bowing down to my "overwhelming power", I now have the defeat of the Kanto gyms as my next goal. Urghh. That's it for now.

[Grace] Pokémon Con Experience

Well hey all. Sorry about the little gap between my posts here; a convention keeps you busy, especially when you're there almost the whole day each day and you also are keeping a guest at your house. Anyway.

So yes, I went to AnimeBoston this weekend, an animecon in the the Northeastern US. I went as Blue from the PokéSpe manga, my friend as Yellow from the same, and my boyfriend also went along for the adventure. We were pretty popular and lots of people took pictures of us, and we made friends with two girls about our age cosplaying as Gold and Silver; it was pretty awesome. It was made more epic when the father of the girl who was Silver was there dressed as Giovanni. How much cooler can a dad get? Also, we were in a giant Pokémon-themed photoshoot on Friday, and on any given day you couldn't walk twenty feet without someone saying PokéWalker?! and offering to connect. It was pretty sweet. Pictures shall happen when I stop being lazy. I bought some pins, including one of Gold and Silver, one of just Silver, and one of Mareep. Ohoho.

But other than that in my Pokélife... let's see. I've caught Kyogre and gotten myself a lot more Battle Points. I got myself the Yellow Forest route over WiFi today, and plan on catching a Pikachu that knows Surf. That thing is so going on my final team. Totally.

And so my friends, I'm off now to see if I can get myself that Pikachu. Best of luck to Raino as the Johto segment of his journey comes to a close.

And so I finally have a Raichu. That's one childhood ambition accomplished (This is like my second Raichu ever, that idiot Lass Dana never gave me a thunderstone on Crystal) and I'm 12 levels closer to getting my first Dragonite too. Only three more levels to go, buddy. Clair's Kingdra doesn't stand a chance. In fact, I just finished mowing down the last trainer in the gym to stand in my way, and every single battle was a OHKO fight by three of my fine warriors, except two. In another trainer's words: it was a cakewalk.

So here I am standing in front of Clair, with only two bruises from these raging dragons, as I sign off for the night. Chick better prepare for trouble.

[Raino] A decade-old childhood dream?

Hoo-hah. So I've had this game for almost a week now, give or take a few hours, and I'm finally on my way to the Ice Path. Yeah. Taking it nice and slow. Well, very nice, but even slower. And as I draw closer to the eighth and final gym of the Johto League, I am also closing in on the 60 hours played mark. Well at least I'll have at least have a level 50 team when I reach the Indigo Plateau, and not a level ~38 team with maybe one or two main pokemon around level 45.

That said, I'm actually only fifteen levels away from making a decade-old dream come true. To train and raise my very own Dragonite. And not just any Dragonite that you've won as a Dratini as some prize, or that you've caught halfway through the game, no. I'm talking about a Dratini you've had since the beginning, one that's been together with you through thick and thin, both hard times and good times. A lifelong companion. I love me some dragons, okay.

Alright, a quick summary! Since last time I've defeated Jasmine (shitshitshitshitshitshit), beaten Rocket Grunts down in the ground, battled alongside Lance's Dragonite (askjfadjasas), beaten more Rocket Grunts, defeated Pryce and his prized (pun oh-so intended) ice-type pokemon, defeated my Rival Silver once again and disbanded Team Rocket. Man, them female grunts looked good. And so my team is as follows:

Hey, everyone's gone up almost 10 levels. 'Twas more than expected, honestly. Oh, speaking about leveling up. It seems all this grinding-in-one-spot-until-I'm-satified training has made my team's stats go all wonky. The stats don't match up to what's expected of their natures and things like that. Like how Kaizer's SP. ATK has surpassed everything except his Speed-stat, despite his Impish nature. Oh unpredictability, I find you highly amusing. I'm so glad this is purely a PvE team.

[Grace] Legends, cosplay, and the Battle Frontier

So yeah. I've caught several legends now -- Suicune, Raikou, Entei, Kyogre, Mewtwo. Unfortunately all of them took painful amounts of Ultra Balls, so I'm currently broke and grinding the Elite Four for money. Fff.

Anyway, so my Blue cosplay is done. Con is tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday (though I'm not sure I'm going Sunday). My friend is coming as Yellow; we look totally fab together, I might add. Pictures will ensue: I promise.

My win streak at the Battle Factory was broken at 20 -- yeah, 20, right before Thorton -- cuz my opponent got a crit that killed me. If they hadn't I would've won, fff. But you know, that's life, and it's mkay, I enjoy it anyway. I have a 7 win streak at the Castle, 10 at the Hall, 21 at the Arcade, and I haven't done anything in the Tower yet.
